Ms. Avelino was also part of President Marcos' meeting with the United States-Philippines Society (USPS) which vowed for greater cooperation and partnership in the development and economy of the Philippines. Ms. Avelino represented PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo who serves as a member of the USPS Board. |
As part of the delegation, Ms. Avelino participated in a meeting between the
DMW, represented by DMW Secretary Susan Ople, and American business firms,
including those from the shipping sector. The firms expressed their interest
in employing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), including 75,000 seafarers for
the cruise sector.
